Having the perfect SEO on your blog or site, your site generates more organic traffic from the targeted region or territory which increases your product sales if you are running a business.
What is search engine optimization
You might have come to know that SEO means the proper placement of focus keywords in your blog, yes it’s right, however, it’s not a complete definition.
If you are doing SEO means you are addressing the search engines like google, bing, and YouTube that you have created pointed content for their users which they can serve the users for particular query or question.
SEO includes many aspects, like keyword optimization and placement, Image optimization and placement, naming of images, URL creation, permalink setup, length of URL in terms of characters, selection of title of the blog, and many aspects that need to be covered.
SEO is not limited to just rank your blog, hence it is a wide potential to boost your local or international business as well.
In this blog, we are going to educate you on how you can do a perfect SEO for your blog that will boost your content for ranking in every search engine.
How does sEO (Search engine optimization) work?
Search Engines crawl your content by using the bots, which interact with your site or blog, they can and collect the bunch of information served on your pages or posts and keep with them by indexing.
Indexing means you can imagine a huge library that holds millions of books for every topic and anyone can find any books which he wants to go through by processing certain steps.
Second, the algorithm of search engines determines the usefulness, quality, and trustability of the content which the crawler crawled and then indexes according to its checkpoints.
If we explore in a simple language by continuing the library example, a librarian (algorithm) has already read each and every book lying in a library and suggests you a perfect book according to your intent.
Your brain must be raising a question, why SEO is pretty unavoidable because SEO is a way that educates the algorithm to serve the user a piece of perfect information amongst the collection of Billion pages.
You are restricted to pay search engines to rank your blog like paid search ads, in order to get organic traffic, you would have to put your own efforts into interacting with organic SEO.
You are already familiar with the fact that Google updates its algorithm periodically which varies the fundamentals of SEO as well frequently, however, some fundamentals remain as it is as they are the major aspects.
Although many people are aware of the Fundamentals of SEO, they fail to rank their sites on search engines in an organic way that’s why I am publishing this article which will educate them on how to do SEO.
Having the knowledge of fundamentals is not enough until you can not convert it into actions and execute the expected results.
In order to teach how you can apply SEO guidelines to your blog practically, this post has been created.
How to do SEO (search engine optimization) for better ranking
SEO plugins are too helpful to create SEO-friendly contents for our blog or website, hence we must have our own strategy for organic SEO, and SEO plugins are supposed to be used as assistants.
As you know SEO helps the algorithms to recognize the relativity between the published content from bloggers and the query raised by users in the search engine.
Why we do SEO because search engine algorithm can understand what we are trying to convey to the user, don’t forget that Google works for its users so indirectly our target should be the users.
Doing SEO does not stand for we create content which the only google can understand if google is satisfied with our content, it will rank, but as long as it seems that the users do not get proper satisfaction, it will downgrade our content from SERP despite having Fully SEO Friendly content.
Therefore, in this article, I am gonna educate you to create content that will be SEO Friendly as well as user-friendly.
do the proper reserach on content and keywords
Do deep research on content before doing keyword research, do not jump on the keywords directly without fetching the potential of the niche.
For example, I am writing this article on how to do SEO, I did not do the research on SEO keywords directly, I explored the content, and I fetched the data about the people are searching regarding the SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
I made the list of queries and questions that are being asked by users frequently and amongst those, I categorized those questions which are either unanswered or not answered properly yet.
After doing that, truly speaking, I did not need to do the keyword research, I got those questions and queries which people are searching for and google as well.
Keyword Research and optimizaton
Just above I disclosed that Search Engine Optimization does not stand for just keyword placement, right?
Once you have hints about the queries of people, you are supposed to do the keyword research for that particular query.
What is Actually Keyword Research
Keyword Research does not mean to target high volume, high CPC, and low difficulty keywords, this is a very wrong approach defined by the bloggers.
Keyword research means you have to find those terms and questions which are being asked by the people and google has a lack of quality information for those questions.
Generally, bloggers search for those keywords that have high volume, high CPC, and more search trends, I do not deny this approach, you should do this, but your first approach must provide the appropriate information to users.
While writing a blog, you should include the keywords with intent, and the placement must be natural, don’t place the keyword for just inclusion purposes.
By doing this you are downgrading your website by own, as google will rank your site, but the user experience will not better and google will derank your site soon.
Use the LSI keywords and Synonyms for the targeted keywords, because Google is very smart, it will fetch that you have just placed the keyword for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
For example, if you are focusing on the keyword ” earn from blogging”, then you should some very powerful synonyms like make money from blogging, cash out the blog, blog revenue, monetizing the blog, how to monetize the blog, etc…
By rendering the LSI keywords, you are addressing the Google that you are covering many aspects about the queries for which it is looking.
A good habit of doing search engine optimization is that you include the primary keyword in the meta description of the blog, and use some LSI keywords in the first 400-500 words.
You might have seen that many SEO Plugins suggesting you maintain the keyword density between 1.00 to 2.00, and to achieve this criteria bloggers do the stuffing of keywords which is very harmful to the entire website.
The second thing I want to mention along with this information is that you are setting the keyword density, it’s not keyword density, it’s keyword percentage.
While creating a blog, focus on including the intent keywords with the primary keywords as well, because Google is very smart and can understand the depth of information written by you.
You should keep the keyword density between 0.50 to 1.50, over-optimization will render a negative remark on the site of google.
Use More Active Voice Sentences
After the introductions of Article Spinners, google has become its algorithm more advanced as it can differentiate between the article written manually and created by article spinners.
When you spin the original article by article spinner, it includes the maximum portion in passive voice.
So if you create articles by yourself and use a more passive voice, google will consider it as a pinned article and can create problems in ranking.
Title Optimization of Blog
According to all SEO Plugins, it’s compulsory to include the focus keyword in the title, yes it’s right, but in fact, it’s recommended, not mandatory.
You need to focus on the cheezy title rather than Keyword included title, for example, I am targeting the keyword ” Best Smartphone in the USA”.
I will keep my blog’s title as ” Top 8 Smartphones in the USA” rather than ” Best 8 Smartphones in the USA”.
The reason behind it is that the CTR of the blog containing the title ” Top 8 Smartphones in the USA ” is higher than ” Top 8 Smartphones in the USA “.
This information does not refuse you to include the focus keyword on the title of the blog, but I am suggesting you choose the title according to the trend and people’s choice & mindset.
Enagement of User
Do you know that the first 400-500 words of your blog decide how much time the user will stay on your blog because it’s the first impression apart from the title after landing on your blog page?
Don’t use the introduction, or ” hello guys”, or ” hello friends” types of content at the beginning of your content.
At the beginning of the article, you are supposed to make trust in the user’s mind that he is going to get all answers to his question later on in the blog if he continues reading the blog.
Image optimization is as much important as keyword optimization by attaching the alt text on the image.
Use the focused keyword and LSI keyword as an alt text of the image, second thing I want to mention is that do not use more images than required.
The over-optimization of the image is also causing of de-rankig of your site or blog, because the user is always looking for information by content, the use of images must be to convey the small information in graphics format.
Some bloggers use ready-made images from other sites or google images, and they don’t know that some of them are copyrighted images, which is harmful to their blogs.
You should never move ahead with this approach, create your own graphics, and they can also be done with free tools like canvas.
While putting alt text, do not repeat one keyword for all images, if you are putting 4 images, use the focus keyword as an alt text only for two images, use the LSI keyword as an alt text for the rest two.
The benefit of including images with alt text containing the Focus keyword and LSI keyword is that your images will rank in google images as well which is embedded with the blog’s URL.
As a result of this, whenever anyone will find images on google images related to your content, your images will appear with your blog’s URL, by clicking on the user will be redirected to your website which will boost your organic traffic.
Internal linking to your existing webpages
Search Engine Optimization is a collection of certain criteria which includes the potential of internal linking.
Don’t make only one blog post on one keyword, for example, today you create a blog on “How to make money by Adsense”, now your next article should be ” Best Adsense alternative for monetizing Blog”, “Affiliate Marketing VS Adsense”.
Now interlink these all blogs with each other, it’s called a strong internal linking.
Why Internal Linking is Must?
Your revenue depends more on the page views rather than the number of users.
Let me explore it more!
Suppose a user came to your blog, and you have not linked any of your existing blog posts to the current blog post, now, as long as the user will gather the required information, he will back or close the tab.
Loss of Weak Internal Linking
Here you are having the two big losses of weak internal linking.
One is that the user is not spending more time on your post, it will increase the bounce rate of your website which is a negative marking for your website.
Second, if by chance none of the google ads would display on that blog, your revenue will not be generated.
Now if you would have applied the relevant internal linking on that blog, the user will click on it and will be redirected to another post, which will increase the page views of your website and session duration will be increased which causes the low bounce rate.
The second benefit of strong internal linking is that if there is not any google Adsense ad is displayed, there are chances that on the other page it displays and the user clicks on it which will make a good revenue for your blog.
External linking – Provide authentic reference
I have noticed that many bloggers do the external linking forcefully, just to fulfill the criteria of google search engine optimization, which is a very bad approach.
The reason for doing an external linking is to redirect the user for more information related to his query, so you are supposed to give a link to a relevant source.
The second serious mistake bloggers do that they give an external link of the irrelevant sources which downgrade your website’s ranking.
Google insists the bloggers provide the correct and complete information to its user and for that, it approaches us to attach an external source of information apart from our blog.
Use proper navigation
Provide the proper navigation to the user to find his query with ease of scrolling i.e. he would not have to scroll the entire page slowly to find his required information.
The best way to use the navigation is the use of the Table of Content plugin which allows the user to jump directly to the required information.
The reason to apply the navigation is that google wants that users should not have to face irritation while searching the information on the page, and the importance of easy navigation is understood by the introduction of the Google Passage Indexing Policy.
According to the title of this article, we have explained to you the Fundamentals of SEO, which means which kind of awareness you have to keep while writing a blog, SEO is the by-product, and SEO fundamentals are the being product.
Placing keywords properly in the blog is a too major aspect for the success of the blog, but I recommend you to understand the difference between keyword placement and keyword stuffing.
Many business sites are getting boom by doing SEO along with Search Engine Marketing as well, the ranking of blogs in Google SERP is not a big deal if you are clear with SEO fundamentals.
